This painting is part of a body of works that signify figures of wise protective women like a shell (a reference to Gaston Bachelard’s Poetic of Space) - with faceless characters in poetic landscapes. With references to symbolism and surrealist paintings - the scenes I construct, both real and imagined helps to expand on themes of timelessness and care.

workofart

My really recent work explores the continued fragility of our relationships and the impact on our inner self. How we protect relationships with other human beings and how we deal with the consequences of breaking up or death of loved ones, are all questions whose answers are decisive for our personal future and which has become even more relevant after this pandemic.By developing a personal work around self-mythology, illusionism and a bit fantasy playing with perception and truth, I propose a pictorial work that is somehow a tribute to benefactors’ companions to dream about Another Possible World of care.
