In Between Bliss
In Between Bliss is a meditation and conceptual video work, diving into the world “in between” movement, moments and emotions. Here slowness act as the guide into an intimate exploration, into the many realisations that occur when we simply slow down time. The video is a part of an ongoing artistic research and series of videos on the topic of slowness and redirection of perception and narrative, especially seen when used in the medium of video. The act of slowing down, is an act of control in a fast paced world claiming new personal meanings for those who indulge. The structure and aesthetics of the video, wants to give way to expressions, of highly personal sensitivities beyond what it comfortable.
To whom it might concern, my name is Stefan Engelbrecht Nielsen and I am a multimedia artist, artistic research enthusiast, performer, photographer, videographer, poet and curator coming from Denmark. I have been working as an artist for about ten years, mainly working with photography and video. For the last 4 years, I have been engaging more into interdisciplinary work, artistic research, performance and installation. In developing my work there are larger themes and fields, I keep circulating around such as; philosophy, sociology, physiology, technology, nature and anthropology, so in a bigger sense looking at art from the perspective of the classical fields, when trying to understand the world. I attempt and seek to use these themes and fields, as tools to harness a creative interdisciplinary process, to investigate problems of human discontent, from new novel ways of creating meaning.
